Pokémon Episode Z
Info:
This collaborative fanfic takes place in the region of Kalos sometime after the events of X and Y. This treats the XY and previous Pokémon games as canon, but not the anime or and of the mangas & graphic novels.
You May Treat the Following Games as Canon:
Kanto (Red/Blue/Green/Yellow & Fire Red/Leaf Green)
Johto (Silver/Gold/Crystal & Heart Gold/Soul Silver)
Hoenn (Ruby/Saphire/Emerald & Alpha Saphire/Omega Ruby + The Delta Episode.)
Orre (The Colluseum Games for the Game Cube.)
Sinnoh (Diamond/Pearl/Platnuim.)
Unova (Black/White/Black 2/White 2)
Kalos (X/Y)
Any characters that apear in these games may be mentioned, or even appear, in this story. Events that took place in these games may also be refranced too! Now with that out of the way here are some rules:
1. You don't have to have played a Poémon game to participate, but please use the Bulbapedia website as refrance or ask other users questions when needed.
2. There are no animals in the Pokémon universe, since Pokémon kinda take their place. Some people do think differently, but to make things less complicated we will go with this head canon. Countries that exist in real life will also not exist here, the regions above are the only countries to be mentioned. (You may also make up your own regions if you wish.)
3. Trainers must nickname their pokémon in this story. Becuase who would name their cat "Cat"? (Probably more people than I would like to know...)
4. The story is told in first person. Meaning that everything will be told by the main character. (Example: I stared out the window and watched the rain fall down. My mom looked at me and said, "Honey? Is the weather making you feel moody?")
5. This is an Improvise Wisely story.
Here is a summary of the characters that appeared so far and the Pokemon they own:
Elizabeth-Comes from a poor family and does not like zigzagoons. Her favorite color is purple and she plays the piano. She is highly introverted, easily scared, and prone to falling for practical jokes. She see,s to be very sensitive and caring though. Is unsure about her benefactor Simon.
(Pokémon-Eek a ghastly.)
Scarlet-A red headed Pokéshelter employee. Best multitasker ever. Has an evil pansage that nobody likes. (Pokémon: A pansage with an unknown name.)
Dr. Dexter-A jolly old man close to retiring. He gets easily excited about new trainers. He cares deeply for his beloved per Conner. His grandson is a dragon trainer. Eek is the granddaughter to Conner.(Pokémon: Conner a huanter.)

Simon-A rich boy who generously gives to poorer trainers. Is not well trusted by Elizabeth.
(Pokémon-Lucario and Greninja with unknown names.)

Now with that out of the way we can start with...
Chapter One
It was a cold, rainy winter morning in Lumiocity. The only warmth to be found was in the glowing street lights above me. I admit it was not my idea of prestine biking weather, but I was in hurry and I could not drive since my mom and dad needed both of the family cars. Hopefully not all of the good pokémon in the shelter would be claimed by the time I arrived. I had waited so long to start my journey and it would be a shame if my first team member was just a crummy level one zizagoon.
I watched ivy covered stone walls, and fancy store windows filled with the latest fashions, fly past me as I peddled. My thoughts strayed from my impending Pokémon journey to what it would be like to be rich. There was no secret in the fact that my family was more than a little bit under middle class. That is why I was getting the "Discount Pokédex Trainer Package" instead of the "Deluxe" one. That ment I would get a cheaper Pokédex with a thick plastic exterior instead of the shiny, thin metal pokèdexes that the deluxe trainers get when they start. The fact I would not get a fancy Pokédex did not bother me so much. As long as the device worked I was okay with the idea of having a lower grade dex. The lower standard starter pokémon part is what really bugged me. Instead of getting to choose from a carefully bred chespin, froakie, fennekin, bulbasour, charmander, squirtle, or pikachu like the delux trainers, I would have to pick up a starter from the local Pokéshelter. That was where people would dump unwanted low leveled pokémon they found, and there was rarely anything even slightly decent in those places.
Before I knew it, I was at said shelter and there were already a few kids running around waiting for their turn. I rembered wanting to start my journey at twelve, which was the youngest a Pokédex trainer could be in Kalos, but my parents insisted I finish school before I do that. I am kind of glad that I did not choose to put aside a year of my studies, it would stink to have an epic adventure and then go straight back to studying. Eighteen is a very good time to start a career as a trainer, in my opinion, but I admit that I did get jelous whenever I saw some random preteen walking around with a group of high leveled 'mons.
I was very happy those days of envying every trainer I encountered were behind me. As I stopped I took a deep breath and I got off my bike. I was ready for my dreams to be fulfilled. The building I was about to enter looked fairly decent, not quite as fancy as the average building in Lumiocity. The cream colored paint on the bricks were chipped and the windows were full of various pokémons' scratches and lick marks. In the display window I could see a few furfrou puppies inside a large play pen. I walked foreword and pressed my hand against the window. One curious puppy waddled foreword and looked at me curiously with a tilted head and oversized bright eyes. Furfrous were hardy creatures, normal typed and sturdy. One of those puppies would not be a horrible starter but these furfrous were just a bit too young to be trained.
I tore my attention away from the puppies and walked through the front door. I saw several kids walking around flaunting their new partners. One little blonde boy was holding a fish bowl containing a luvdisc. Poor soul was going to have a hard time starting his journey with that thing. Another girl was play wrestling with her new mankey on the dirty tile floor. Lucky her, those things are hard to find in Kalos. After a quick look at my fellow "discount" trainers, I made my way to the front desk. A young lady with her red hair in a bun greeted me as best as she possible oh manage while trying to brush an irritable pansage and talk on the phone.
"Welcome to the Lumiocity Pokéshelter, my name is Scarlet and I will be one of the guides who will help you enter the world of Pokémon training," she said in a very formal manner. Unfortunatly the pidgey attempting to make a nest in her frizzy red bun ruined her professionalism a little bit. "May I see the code you were given when you bought the package?" she asked. I handed her the receit with the code on it. She took a quick look at it before that pansage snatched it from her hand and stuffed it in his cheek. Before I had a chance to even think about choking that evil little pansage she said something. "Oh, I am sorry! Don't worry about it though, your code was a pretty simple one to memorize, I can type it in from memory," she explained hastily. I could see her face turn red with embarrassment, or was that a bite mark of some kind? Yeesh.
She used her free hand to type my code onto the computer screen. I had to hand it to her, she was a total pro at multitasking. "Your code is valid! You may enter the room labeled "B" down the hall over there. When you arrive you will be asked to specify your full name, gender, age, hair color, and eye color. After all that, you will pose for a photo, take a finger print, and sign a signature for your license. Once the paper work is done, a staff member will give you three randomly selected pokémon to choose from. Then you will get a pokédex! I wish you and your new partner the best of luck!" she finished telling me those instructions with a thumbs up and a big smile. As I walked away, I could see that the pansage had snatched her computer and was in the prosess of pounding the keyboard with its fists. Heh, and I thought the luvdisc boy had it rough!
I found the room that I was instructed to enter. An elderly man with huge glasses and a cheerful smile was waiting with three pokéballs on his desk. "Well hi there young one! My name is Dr. Dexter, and I will help you create your license and choose your starter," he chirped happily. I could have sworn he was more excited than I was about my impending adventure. "Cloud you please tell me your name, gender, age, eye color, and hair color please? Haha, I know the answers to some of those are obvious, but rules are rules. I need you to confirm everything by word of mouth," he said in an amused voice, "the fellers who write these silly rules are a little odd if you ask me, but that opinion is just between you and me." I stared at him uncomfortablely. "You don't talk much do ya? Or maybe you got a bad case of the jitters?" he asked me sympathetically, "Sheesh, you should not be so worrisome at such a young age! I am sure you will do fine! Now please answer the questions, preferably before I have to retire."
I felt myself shiver, I didn't realize how nervous I was about getting my first pokémon. I stared at the three shiny pokéballs for a moment and woundered wich one was the one for me? Would I be lucky like mankey girl and get an okay pokémon? Maybe I would get stuck with a group of duds to choose from like that luvdisc boy? I could even be supper lucky and get something great, or I could end up with that evil pansage. So many questions raced through my mind, but I maged to muster up enough streanth to answer the five basic questions. Starting with my full name.
( A note to whoever choses the main character's name and other info. i would highly prefer if it would be less silly and a little more well thought out. So nothing like Bobert Pickles or Silly-Pants Magee please. ^_^ I would also suggest a name based on a color, metal, or gemstone, since they are comon in many forms of Pokémon media. It does not have to be a metal, color, or gem though, just something pretty, creative, or cool sounding and very special. Sorry to be a bother, but the protagonist is special since they will be the voice of this story and I want some TLC to go into their name. Thank you! You guys may, however, go nuts with what three Pokémon the protagonist gets to choose from! The pokémon can be as awesome, cute, or weird as you would like! Also, I appollogize for already choosing the character's age, 18. I hope the next writer is okay with just picking the name, gender, and appearance of the main character.
One last thing, I would strongly suggest this pattern:
Me: Introduce story and rules.
Next Person: Chooses character's info.
Person After That: Choses the three potential starters.
Person After After That: Choses wich starter the character picks.
Okay, that's it, I will stop being obsessive now! I look foreword to see what kind of Pokémon adventure we can create! Let the fun beguin! )

Improvise Wisely
The writers must try their best to develop a decent plot and good characters with strong personalities. Writers are encouraged to try a bit harder than they would with a "Kinda Random Story" and actually think carefully as they write something. They are still allowed to goof off though, but they must do so in a way that won't make the story too absurd or random.
